Due to rain in Bristol, Bangladesh had to share points with opponents, Sri Lanka. Naturally, this created a sense of desolation in the team but now, Bangladesh are in Tuanton where they will face West Indies on Jun 17.
Everyone was in a buoyant mood when they boarded the bus from Bristol. There was marked determination in each player to put the past behind and turn around.
The one hour trip from Bristol to Taunton took four hours because the team management allowed the players to take small breaks in the journey to come out and enjoy the fresh air and the scenery.
In Taunton, the team will be resting since they will not train on Wednesday and Thursday but any player can take individual training.
On Jun 14, the tigers will start training at the Somerset County Cricket field. The players were given rest to overcome the mental pressure.
In relaxed mood, some of the players in small groups tried the local restaurants.
After sharing points with Sri Lanka, a win against West Indies has become crucial.
But the field in Taunton is small and Mashrafe is concerned about West Indies batting storm.
“We have no alternative but to fight.”
We have to see if our bowlers manage to make optimum use of this field, added the captain.
