A four-for by Mustafizur Rahman together with Mashrafe Mortaza’s three-for have helped Bangladesh restrict West Indies to 247 for nine in the penultimate league match of ongoing tri-nation one-day international series in Dublin on Monday (May 13).
Mustafizur was in the prime as he bagged 4-43 while Mashrafe got 3/60 with Shakib Al Hasan conceded just 27 in 10 overs.
Tiger skipper Mashrafe got vital wickets of Shai Hope and Jason Holder breaking their 100-run partnership by getting rid of the former for 87 before dismissing the latter for 62.
Hope scored three consecutive centuries against the Tigers before this match.
Mustafizur got two wickets in quick succession to push Windies in the back foot before the century partnership somewhat resurrected the innings.
Mustafiz trapped Jonathan Carter in the first ball of the 24th over to reduce West Indies to 99/4. He dismissed Roston Chase in the first ball of his second over to get the third wicket of West Indies four overs ago.
The left-handed bowler, who was struggling recently, forced the right handed batsman to lob a mistimed shot at the leg side with his trademark cutter.
Mehidy Miraz got the second wicket when sent back Darren Bravo in the 11th over, after dropping him in the previous over.
Earlier, Bangladesh was sent to bowl after losing toss against West Indies in the match at Malahide Cricket Club in Malahide, Dublin.

Bangladesh now need 248 runs to win.
