Earlier, Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza elected to bat after winning the toss.

Trent Boult and Mitchell Santner took 3 wickets each while Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson took 2 wickets each.

Sabbir Rahman returned for the visitors, after his ban had been reduced by the BCB to bring him back to the ODI squad. It is his first ODI since July last year.
