Chittagong Vikings have defeated Khulna Titans in the first-ever super over in the history of Bangladesh Premier League in Dhaka on Saturday (Jan 12).
The match between Vikings and Titans went right down to the wire, with the former scored 11 runs super over while the latter managed 9 runs for the loss of two wickets.
Batting first, Titans set a 152-run target for the Vikings at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
Chasing the target, the port city franchise levelled the score, resulted in the match to go for a Super Over for the first time in the BPL history.
Vikings needed 19 runs off the final over to win the match. Ariful after getting hit for a six off the second ball removed Nayeem and it seemed like it was all over at that point, state news agency BSS reports.
But Frylinck had other ideas as he smashed two sixes off the next two balls and levelled the scores. However, he failed to connect the last ball and ran himself out.
Cameo Robbie Frylinck blazed 13-ball off 23-run hitting one boundary and two over boundaries before he fell victim of a run out in the crucial point putting an end to all hopes of Vikings after Yasir Ali (41) and Mushfiqur Rahim (34) paved the way for Chittagong.
Carlos Brathwaite and Shariful Islam shared four Titans' wickets conceding 30 and 31 runs respectively.

After winning the match, Vikings skipper Mushfiqur Rahim said it was a great game of cricket … and all credit goes to Frylinck. He has a great career ahead of him (Yasir Ali) and hoped that he would be able to score big in the future matches.
Titans skipper Mahmudullah said it was a good opportunity for them to win the match. Losing four matches in a row will definitely put them under pressure and at the same time, he hoped to execute their plans in the next matches.
Frylinck of Chittagong Vikings was named the player of the match for his brilliant bowling performance.
Earlier, Khulna Titans scored a competitive total of 151 for 6 from their allotted 20 overs after they were forced to bat first by Chittagong Vikings.
English batsman Dawid Malan top-scored for Khulna with 43-ball off 45-run hitting three boundaries and an over-boundary and during the process, he scored 77 runs for the third wicket stand along with skipper Mahmudullah who contributed 31-ball off 33 runs laced with four boundaries.
Opener Junaid Siddique (20) and Paul String (18) were the other notable scorers for Khulna Titans.
Sunzamul Islam was the pick of Vikings bowler as he claimed two wickets conceding 37 runs.
