Senior BNP leader Moudud AhmadThe BNP has lost all hope of freeing party chief Khaleda Zia from jail through a legal battle, says senior leader Moudud Ahmed.
His made the remarks on Tuesday (Oct 15) while addressing a rally, organsied by the BNP-led 20-party Alliance, over the killing of a student inside a BUET dormitory the at National Press Club in Dhaka
"I do not think that Khaleda Zia can be freed from jail through a legal process or even on parole. So, she must be freed through a movement. The 20-Party Alliance will stay till the end. And we will grow bigger as a coalition to further strengthen the movement," said Moudud, who sits on the BNP’s policymaking National Standing Committee.
Moudud further added: "Each and every wing [Chhatra League, Jubo League, and others] of this government is corrupted through extortions and tender manipulations. This government must step down as soon as possible for the wellbeing of the country."
On the killing of BUET student Abrar Fahad, he said: "Chhatra League has been terrorising all universities, and creating torture cells in every hall, which came to light after Abrar's death."
