BNP is following the Kashmir imbroglio intensely with concern and disquietude, informed a party media release signed by the joint secretary general, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

The release says that the people of this sub-continent desire peace and security. BNP expects a return to normalcy in Kashmir and regards the UN call for restraint very timely.

The statement further says: BNP believes that any problem can be solved through dialogue and is confident that the Indian government will ensure basic rights of all citizens enshrined in the Indian constitution.

Settlement of the Kashmir issue will accelerate the process to maintain peace, prosperity, harmony and development in the region, it added.
