The Election Commission has cleared the nomination of BNP’s Rumeen Farhana for the reserved seat for women in the 11th Parliament
On Tuesday (May 21), her candidacy was declared valid, Returning Officer Md Abul Kashem told BSS.
If Farhana does not withdraw her candidacy, she would be elected unopposed on May 28 as she was the lone candidate for the reserved seat for woman from BNP, the state news agency quoted him saying.
Farhana submitted her nomination to the commission on the last day of nomination paper submission on Monday.
The deadline for withdrawing candidacy ends on May 28.
