Calling the government to make way for the opposition to do politics, Bikalpa Dhara President Badruddoza Chwodhury has said democracy without an opposition is incomplete.
“Make way for the opposition in politics other otherwise country’s democracy will no longer sustain,” Chwodhury told a progamme in the city on Thursday (Mar 21).
Citing all parties joined in the Dec 30 national elections, former president said, “Have the (ongoing) Upazila Council polls held in an all-inclusive manner? Have all parties participated in the polls?
“Contest in Upazia elections was within a party,” Badruddoza said before terming it a “one-party polls”.
Citing low voter turnout in the Upazila polls, Chwodhury said, “If voters are reluctant the democracy will be at risk.”
