Ruling Awami League (AL) is set to hold a grand rally to celebrate its unprecedented landslide win in the 11th Parliamentary Election at Dhaka’s Suhrawardy Udyan on Saturday (Jan 19).
AL chief and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend as the chief guest of the program, which isset to begin at 2:30pm.
A cultural programme will be held beginning at 12pm prior to the rally.
Leaders and activists from AL and its front bodies from Dhaka and its neighbouring districts have gathered to participate in the rally.
Information Minister and AL publicity affairs secretary Hasan Mahmud and AL Deputy publicity affairs secretary Aminul Islam Amin will jointly moderate the programme.
Meanwhile, Dhaka Metropolitan Police have restricted vehicular movements in nearby areas of the venue to ease traffic congestion for the day.
