According to the latest information, Jamaat has 78 district bodies which may have risen in the last one year, according to a Gazipur zila official. Jamaat e Islami has finalised a post-election work strategy, say district-level party leaders.

Election of district amirs has begun which may be completed in January and, currently, a special team is carrying out selections, say party insiders.

The names of elected amirs will be declared in February from their election commission. 

Jamaat’s amended organogram states that the amir will be elected for 2 years.

Amir of Sylhet south, amir, moulana Habibur Rahman, said: “our organisations are always active and the process of selecting amirs has started.”

According to the latest information, Jamaat has 78 district bodies which may have risen in the last one year, informs a Gazipur zila official.

A thana level worker of Dhaka city said, after the shura election in Majlish, members will take oath in front of the amir.

Khulna city Jamaat assistant secretary, advocate Shah Alam, told Bangla Tribune: “the process to elect has begun in several districts but not in Khulna.”

Relevant party insiders say that from March next, a process will start for upazila council elections and Jamaat may contest with individual candidates.”
