Awami League’s Dhaka-15 candidate Kamal Ahmed Majumder’s election office in the capital’s 60 feet area was attacked.
Unidentified men fired a few rounds and threw cocktails at the office on Tuesday (Dec 17) night, confirmed Mirpur Model police OC Dadan Fakir.
“The attackers vandalized the office, breaking of the TV, chairs, and the photos of Sheikh Mijibur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina before escaping,” Fakir told Bangla Tribune.
“We suspect that Jamaat and BNP are behind this,” he added.
Fakir said that even though the attackers managed to flee, the police were able to detain a few suspects after raiding the area.
Meanwhile, Kamal Majumder’s Personal Assistant said that Dhaka North City Corporation ward-13, AL leader Harun-Ur-Rashid was injured and is currently undergoing treatment at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital.
