JaSoD to contest with ‘boat’ in 3 seats, 5 more with ‘torch’ Candidates of Hasanul Haq Inu-led Jatiya Somajtantrik Dal (JaSoD) faction will contest from eight seats in the general election slated for Dec 30.
On Sunday (Dec 9), Inu, who serves as the information minister in Awami League administration, sent three separate letters to the Election Commission over developments related to his party’s candidates.
Three JaSoD candidates, including Inu from Kushtia – 2, will contest the election with the Awami League’s polls logo ‘boat’; the two others are General Secretary Shirin Akhter from Feni -1 and AKM Rezaul Karim Tansen from Bogura-4, reads one of the letters.
In a separate letter, the party said its five candidates will run with its polls logo ‘torch’. They are Shah Zikrul Ahmed (Brahmanbaria-5), SM Khademul Islam (Gaibandha-3), Syed Shafiqul Islam Mintu (Mymensingh-6), Kumaresh Chandra Roy (Rangpur-2) and Md Mohsin (Barishal-6).
The Inu-led JaSoD faction also informed the Commission that 37 of its candidates’ nominations have been revoked.
