Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad has been taken home and will take part in the upcoming polls slated for Dec 30, confirmed the party’s Secretary General Ruhul Amin Howlader.
“There is no doubt that he run for the polls. His nomination has been filed,” he told the media on Saturday (Dec 1) after a meeting with the chief election commissioner.
The former military dictator was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital on Tuesday (Nov 27) and although there were talks of him flying to Singapore for treatment, Howlader later said that his current condition does not call for it.
Regarding the vandalism in front of the party office by aspirants deprived of nomination and the accusations against the Ershad and the party’s secretary general, Howlader said, “Many people might have made these accusations out of disappointment but there is no truth to these accusations.”
