The Delta Plan, Blue-economy, youth empowerment and zero tolerance against corruption are the key issues that have been given the utmost importance, according to people familiar with the draft.
“The draft has reached party chief Sheikh Hasina and will only be printed after she finalizes it,” Presidium member Dr Abdur Razzak told Bangla Tribune.
The ‘Delta Plan’ is a 100-year scheme outlining the details of where Bangladesh will stand in the year 2100, Prime Minister Hasina has said earlier.
Another highlight of the manifesto will be the blue economy goals — a blue-print of how marine resources will be utilized in an eco-friendly manner will be part of the electoral pledges.
On the issue of youth empowerment, the manifesto reportedly has separated plans for the unemployed educated and those with no or little formal education and unskilled.
It has also been revealed party chief and Prime Minister Hasina’s visions for development of the country and urbanisation of the rural areas will be part of the pledges.
The manifesto will additionally highlight the progress of the party since it took office in 2008.
Other than a new five-year plan, the manifesto will also give special emphasis on power and energy issues as well as include the steps that will be taken in order to stamp out militancy and the development of the country.
