52 AL aspirants for Barguna-1

Sale of AL nomination forms begin on Friday A total of 52 aspirants have bought an Awami League ticket for the Barguna-1 constituency in Barisal Division to contest the parliamentary elections which have been pushed back to Dec 30.
Sources related to the nomination board told Bangla Tribune that the ruling party has sold over 4,000 tickets to nomination seekers.
It has been confirmed that AL sold 40 tickets for the Narayanganj-1 constituency, 30 tickets for Kurigram-1. Moreover, the Cox’s Bazar-1, Netrakona-1 and Jinaidaha-2 constituencies each have 26 nomination seekers.
Seven other constituencies- Gopalgnaj-3, Gopalganj-2, Barishal-1, Bagerhat-1, Khulna-1, Moulovibazar-1 and Noakhali-5 each have one AL nomination seeker.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be contesting the polls in the Gopalganj-1 constituency, while AL General Secretary and Road Transport Minister Obaidul Quader will be contesting in the Noakhali-5 constituency.
Awami League started the sale of nomination forms from Friday (Nov 9), a day after the polls schedule was announced.
In the four days, 4,023 AL ticket seekers bought the forms, and the party netted nearly Tk 126.90 million.
