Not giving any reaction to the demeaning comment by BJP leader, Subramanian Swami, about establishing authority of Delhi over Bangladesh, is the failure of the AL government, said BNP’s senior joint secretary general, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.

"This is an indication of subservient foreign policy plus the blatant failure in safeguarding the respect and sovereignty of Bangladesh, ” said Rizvi in a media briefing on Sunday at the party’s central office.

At a press conference in Agartala, Subramanian said that if persecution of Hindu minority did not stop in Bangladesh, then India must take over her neighbour and establish a rule from Delhi, observed Rizvi.

“This government is a vassal to another state and it has no regard for national sovereignty or identity, lashed out the BNP politician.”

“As a democratic party, if there’s any credibility in Subramanian’s accusation then we ask the government to take preventive measures,” he added.
