BNP Secretary General, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, has said that they postponed the citizens’ rally, due to be held on 27th, at the request of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
At a media briefing held at the party’s office in Naya Paltan, the senior BNP leader said, “We wanted to have the rally on Sept 27 but the police asked us to move it to Sept 29.”
“Now they are saying that another party will be rallying on that day.”
Fakhrul told reporters that the rally was announced to discuss BNP’s future policies and programmes.
He, however, declined to comment whether the leaders of Jatiyo Oikya and Juktafront will be attending the rally or not.
Everything will be revealed on time, said the BNP leader.
