Describing the demands by the alliance led by Badruddoza Chowdhury and Kamal Hossain as ‘identical’ with those by Jamaat-e-Islami, Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu says they were conspiring to install an “unusual” administration.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, he said that the demands aimed to create a constitutional crisis and political uncertainties.
"Jukto Front's demand for deploying troops for the polls is nothing but a recipe to make it controversial. They also demanded dropping charges against BNP activist and even demanded not to arrest them."
Responding to a query on the proposed Digital Security Act, he asked to keep faith on the government.
"This government will not enact any law muzzling free speech," added Inu.
