The BNP has been allowed an hour for its planned human chain demonstration on Monday to press its demand for party chief Khaleda Zia’s release.
Senior BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told Bangla Tribune that the human chain will be held from 10am to 11am in front of the National Press Club.
The Dhaka metro police gave the clearance in a phone call, according to Adbus Salam, an adviser to the BNP chief.
Earlier on Sunday, a BNP team went to meet the police commissioner seeking permission for the demonstration.
“He (DMP Commissioner) was not there, but called us back later,” Salam told Bangla Tribune.
