B Chowdhury’s Jukto Front declared unity with Kamal Hossain’s Gono Forum on Aug 28.Ruling Awami League is sensing conspiracies in the newly formed alliance of Dr AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury, Dr Kamal Hossain and Mahmudur Rahman Manna ahead of the upcoming national election.
Senior leaders of the party are saying that few people, isolated from the political scene are advancing their ‘Depoliticization Mission’ which the people will reject.
The proposal that the new alliance leaders put forth portrays ‘Unconstitutional Intent’, according to AL policymakers.
AL Organizational Secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury told Bangla Tribune, “.. these leaders are detached from politics and people. Their intent is to hatch conspiracies, but they will not be successful.”
“This initiative of forming an alliance is in fact against the Government, the Parliament and the Election Commission. Judging their intent it becomes clear that they are advancing their unconstitutional activities,” he added.
Senior Joint General Secretary of Awami League Mahabubul Alam Hanif said, “Coalition forming trends every time the election is near. Those who are occupied with such initiatives are basically isolated from the people.”
Hanif, however, said, “I will congratulate any alliance forming idea that is aimed for an inclusive election with a healthy mentality. But, people will not support any unity that is formed to hatch conspiracies.”
Faruk Khan, AL Presidium Member made similar comments adding that actions will be taken if alliances are formed to devise conspiracies.
Awami League will further monitor the situation and then decide on measures, he said.
