Father of one of the Airport bus death victims Diya Khanam Miim, Jahangir Alam demanded to run the case as a murder case instead of accident.
He demanded to record the case as murder under section 302 in which a convict will get death penalty while talking to Bangla tribune on Thursday.
On Sunday (Jul 29), Some students of Shahid Ramij Uddin Cantonment College including Dia Khanam Khan and Abdul Karim Sajeeb were waiting at a stoppage bus on Airport Road when a Jabal-e-Noor bus ran over them as its driver was engaged in a race with another vehicle.
Anger erupted following the incident as the students occupied roads in the capital to heed their demands to ensure safe roads and capital punishment of the responsible for the accident.
Jahangir Alam filed a case with police following the incident.
Police have booked the five suspects, including the driver of the bus, under the Bangladesh Penal Code’s Sections 279 and 304 (B), which stipulates a maximum sentence of three years in jail or fine or both for offenders.
He demanded capital punishment for the offenders.
