Regent Airways has suspended all of its flights for the next three months and sent its employees to leave without pay for the period.
The private airlines has been in debt and unable to pay the Tk 2.36 billion in arrears to Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh (CAAB) and National Board of Revenue (NBR).
However, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Imran Asif claimed that operation was suspended due to the coronavirus situation.
“Considering the situation [due to COVID-19] all flight operations will remain shut for three months,” he told media on Sunday (Mar 22).
“The employees have also been informed about the three-months leave without pay,” he said.
