Late Jatiya Party (JaPa) chairman HM Ershad’s son Eric Ershad has filed a general diary (GD) with Dhaka's Gulshan police seeking permission to let his mother Bidisha stay with him.
In the GD, Eric mentioned that he is now an adult and independent, therefore he wants his mother to live in his house, said Gulshan police Inspector (Investigation) SM Quaiyum.
In the GD, Eric said his uncle and his associates physically and mentally tortured him after his father died. So he brought his mother Bidisha, to his President's Park residence in Baridhara on Nov 14.
He also mentioned, as he is now an adult, therefore he can express his own opinion. From now on, he and his mother will live in his home.
After their divorce, Ershad and Bidisha, fought in court over Eric's custody.
Later, Ershad won Eric’s custody. Eric stayed with Ershad at their Baridhara house until Ershad’s death.
Before passing away, the former president formed a trust for Eric’s well being.
Meanwhile, Eric’s mother Bidisha alleged that those who are currently in-charge of taking care of Eric did not allow him to meet her.
Eric was physically and mentally abused, Bidsha said.
Nobody is looking after him and for that, he (Eric) is suffering, she added.
