Police have arrested a bus staffer over crushing a female government official, who lost her leg in the incident.
The fugitive staffer, Bacchu Miah was arrested from Mymensingh’s Gouripur Upazila late on Friday (Nov 15) night, SP (Dhaka Metro) of the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) Bashir Ahmed told Bangla Tribune.
Bacchu has been brought to court on Saturday (Nov 16).
On Sept 1, police arrested Morshed, the bus driver involved in the incident, near Kazipara in the capital.
Fifty-two-year old Krishna Roy, Assistant Manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), has lost her leg when a Trust Paribahan bus lost control and climbed onto a footpath at capital's Banglamotor area on Aug 27.
Soon after the incident, victim’s husband Radhe Sham Chowdhury filed a case accusing the driver, staffer and owner of the bus with Hatirjheel police station.
