File PhotoProtesting students at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) have announced to continue boycotting classes and examinations till their latest three-point demands are met.
Aniruddha Ganguly, a student of Computer Science and Engineering Department, made the announcement on Thursday (Nov 14).
The students have been protesting over a month, demanding justice for Abrar Fahad, who was beaten to death inside the university’s dormitory.
Addressing the media at BUET Shaheed Minar, the students said they submitted their fresh demands to university authorities on Nov 2.
Their fresh demands include; (1) permanent expulsion of the Abrar murder suspects in line with the charge sheet, (2) punishment to the perpetrators who face allegation of ragging the students at Ahsanullah, Titumir and Suhrawardi dormitories, and (3) formulation of rules on specific penalty for ragging the students and carrying out political activities as well as inclusion of the rules in the university ‘ordinance’
Earlier on Wednesday (Nov 13), Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) charged 25 BUET students for Abrar murder.
