A case has been filed against national daily Prothom Alo Editor Matiur Rahman over the death of Nayeemul Abrar, a student of Dhaka Residential Model College.

Nayeemul's father Md Mujibur Rahman filed the case with the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court on Wednesday (Nov 6).

The court will take its decision regarding the case after recording the complainant's deposition.

“The court also has asked to exhume the body of Nayeemul to conduct an autopsy to probe the case alongside the earlier case of unnatural death and ordered Sher-E-Bangla Nagar police to submit probe report on Dec 1,” plaintiff’s lawyer Omar Faruk Asif said.

Ninth-grader Abrar died due to electrocution at his school's premises on Friday (Nov 1) while attending a programme of the Kishore Alo, a youth supplement of the national daily .
