The government has instructed the local airlines to submit its foreign transaction report to the Bangladesh Bank every month.

A Bangladesh Bank circular issued Jul 18 stipulated that the report will be submitted on monthly basis and it must be endorsed by the central bank authorized money exchange bank.

The central bank has no knowledge about the foreign transaction of the local airlines which operate international flights.

It has prompted the regulatory authorities to issue the circular, said an official who has knowledge about the matter.

Novoair, US Bangla and Regent Air are locally operated airlines in the country.
