Over 300 hospitalised with dengue in 24hrs

FILE PHOTO/SAZZAD HOSSAINAs many as 316 hospitalised with dengue-related fever across Bangladesh in the last 24 hours, according to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Till 8am on Thursday (Oct 10), 91 new patients were admitted in Dhaka and 225 in districts outside Dhaka, the DGHS's Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room said in a statement.
The number of patients currently undergoing treatment in government and private hospitals in the country was 1,294, it added.
A total of 81 dengue patients have died across Bangladesh from Jan 1 till Oct 4, according to their own collected data. However, the unofficial death toll is reported to be around 177, so far.
As many as 452 patients were currently receiving treatment in 41 government and private hospitals in Dhaka, whereas 842 people were undergoing treatment outside Dhaka, the DGHS data said.
Since Jan 1 till Oct 10, as many as 91,115 people have been affected by dengue.
Among those admitted, a total of 89,579 have been released from their respective hospitals and clinics after treatment.
