A general view of Police HeadquartersPolice authorities have written a letter to all units, pushing a zero-tolerance approach to prevent illegal transactions, bribes and corruption. The letter lists 14 directives to prevent moral transgression.

Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Md Sohel Rana has confirmed the news. The letter says that due to ethical and moral transgressions, the image of the force has been scarred and the directives need to be followed to prevent any further loss of image for the police.

The directives state that efforts need to be taken to familiarize all police members with the police laws. If a policeman is accused of transgression, the unit head must take immediate action.

Action has to be taken also against anyone trying to conceal anything. Policemen should refrain from posting materials on social media which may provoke discord, controversy and dissension in society.

The directive exhorts police members to follow the right procedure in arresting, transporting and questioning accused persons and asks for on-duty police personnel to refrain from browsing the net, listening to music and chatting.

In the end, the directive also asks for healthy sporting activities for the force.

Recently, after the casino busting operations and the arrest of kingpins of the trade, police officers suspected of complicity are facing a probe.
