From now on, no more e-token or interview for an Indian visa. Apply online anytime. Make a hardcopy and submit it with passport and necessary documents on a working day. You will get an SMS in mobile when the visa is ready.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan and his Indian counterpart Rajnath Singh jointly inaugurated the combined Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC) at the city’s Jamuna Future Park (JFP) on Saturday (Jul 14).
Located in an 18,500 square feet commercial area, this new IVAC has replaced all existing IVACs (Motijheel, Uttara, Gulshan and Mirpur Road) in Dhaka.
Simultaneously, the existing e-token (appointment) system for submission of Indian visa applications has been withdrawn. Thereafter, only one IVAC at JFP for will accept visa applications of all categories without a prior appointment in Dhaka.
The IVAC has facilities like computer generated token vending machines (expected waiting time will be indicated), comfortable seating arrangements in an air-conditioned waiting area, coffee and soft drinks vending machines, food kiosks and as many as 48 counters for submission of applications.
Separate counters are reserved for senior citizens, women, freedom fighters and business applicants.
A special help desk and counter for services, including printing, photocopying etc. are accessible at cost price.
The new IVAC has a capacity to process 5,000 visa application a day, Ranjan Mondal, the press attaché the of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka, told Bangla Tribune.
How to get a visa
At first, apply online by visiting the IVAC website (https://indianvisa-bangladesh.nic.in/visa/). Then, make a print of the application and submit to the IVAC with passport, two copies of photos, a copy of each national ID and a bill of utility services, and a copy of bank statement.
An endorsement of $150 will be required in case anyone fails to provide the bank statement.
Then, a Tk 700 as visa fee will be required to pay using UCash.
After that, all documents along with Ucash payment token will be required to submit within the five days since applying.
Later, the visa authorities will inform the visa delivery date through mobile. If someone is denied visa it will be informed too.
