Myanmar shows interest about BD-Ind border mgt

Benapole border.Myanmar has sent a law enforcing team to learn about Bangladesh-India border management, which is fairly well-coordinated.
A delegation of Myanmar police Tuesday visited Benapole land port to observe how Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Border Security Force (BSF) of India jointly operate to manage border there.
In Myanmar, the border forces are known as Border Guard Police.
BGB Khulna Sector coordinator Major Abdul Hannan said, we gave the team, comprised of nine police, a tour of the border area.
“We also briefed them about how our ICT centre function,” he added.
The delegation is scheduled to come back to Dhaka today after visiting Mongla port, Hannan said.
The team came to Dhaka on Jul 9 to attend the Bangladesh and Myanmar border force annual conference and took the opportunity to learn about Bangladesh-India border management.
Bangladesh and Myanmar also share a common border of less than 300 kilometres.
