Journalist Shafiul Alam found dead at home

Shafiul Alam RazaShafiul Alam Raza, the chief correspondent for online news portal Priyo.com has found dead at his city residence.
Police recovered the body of Shafiul from his Pallabi residence on Sunday (Mar 17) afternoon, said local police OC Nazrul Islam.
The OC said Shafiul ran a music school on the ground floor of a building in Pallabi, and a room for him to rest upstairs.
The landlord contacted the police in the afternoon when there was no response. After arriving, the police broke down the door and found Shafiul dead, he added
The first namz-e-janaja of Shafiul was secluded to be held in Pallabi on Saturday night, followed by another janaja on Dhaka Reporter’s Unity premises in the city’s Segunbagicha.
Later on the night, the body will be taken to his village home in Kurigram’s Chilmari Upazila for burial.
Shafiul had worked at several media outlets including the Dainik Jugantor. His reporting had won him numerous awards and accolades both domestic and international.
Known as a Bhawaiya singer, Shafiul had sung for state-owned Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television on multiple occasions.
