HC rules on distributing candidates’ info among voters

The High Court has issued a rule asking why an order will not be given to distribute the affidavits of polls candidates filed with the election officials among voters.
The bench of justices JBM Hasan and Khairul Alam issued the rule on Tuesday (Feb 5) after initial hearing a petition on publishing election candidates’ personal details.
The HC also asked why it will not order to formulate a specific policy on distributing the information printed on leaflets.
The court asked the Election Commission and its secretary to respond within four weeks.
On Dec 8, Mohammad Humayun Kabir, on behalf of rights body Law and Life Foundation, filed the writ petition.
