Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has been deployed to control the RMG workers’ unrest in Savar, Ashulia and Gazipur.
Police and workers have clashed in multiple spots on the Dhaka-Aricha highway on Wednesday (Jan 9).
Eight platoons of BGB have been deployed to bring the situation under control, BGB official Muhammad Mohsin Reza Chowdhury told Bangla Tribune.
Earlier on Wednesday, thirty people were injured in a clash between ready-made garments workers and police in Savar.
On Tuesday (Jan 7), a similar clash left one dead at Savar. Moreover, 32 workers were injured in several clashed and amongst them three were shot who are undergoing treatment at Enam Medical College Hospital.
