Two female apparel workers have been killed as a bus has run over them in Dhaka.
The incident was reported from the Chowdhurypara area of the capital’s Malibagh area around 1:30am on Tuesday (Dec 20), police said.
The deceased were identified as Meem, 15, and Pervin, 20. More details were unavailable.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Traffic Sergeant (Malibagh area) Subrata Kumar Deb told Bangla Tribune, “A bus of Supravat Paribahan ran over them while they were crossing roads in the area, leaving Meem dead on the spot and Pervin injured.
Critically injured, Pervin was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries, said Subrata.
The bodies were kept at the hospital’s mortuary.
Police seized the bus and detained its driver.
