Bangladesh Awami Olama League has demanded the arrest of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) chairman and other officials who they allege are helping the atheists.
Olama League Secretary General Alhaz Kazi Maulana Md Abul Hasan Sheikh made the demand on Saturday (Dec 15) during a human chain demonstration where 12 other groups participated in front of the National Press Club.
“BTRC is reluctant to take any measures against anti-islamic blogs (https://www.nastikya.com/, https://blog. mukto-mona.com/ and https://www.dhormockery.com) despite the High Court’s order to block the sites,” said Sheikh in a written statement.
“The atheists’ community has been insulting Islam over the years and BTRC is helping them instead of taking any actions,” he added.
“In last Parliamentary Election Awami League printed the polls posters with ‘Allah is almighty’ which continues in this year’s election and it shows respect to the 98 percent community of the country.
They also made 13 demands from the human chain demonstration.
