Forty-eight birds in captivity return homeAround 48 birds of wilderness have been rescued from the capital’s Mirpur-10 on Thursday (Nov 16).
The Wildlife Crime Control unit led a raid at the area following a tip-off and rescued six lonchuras (Munia), 12 Indian mynas (Shalik), 18 spotted doves (GhuGhu) and 12 parrots (Tia). The birds were then released into the Botanical Gardens.
“A group of sellers sell these birds but they fled when they saw us,” Ashim Mollick, Wildlife Crime Control unit told Bangla Tribune.
