Students have beaten and handed over a youth to Police from Dhaka University Campus for alleged rape attempt in his sedan car.

The incident was reported from TSC area of the university around 9pm Friday (Nov 9).

The arrestee went to the campus to meet a girl whom he met on facebook. He allegedly attempted to rape the girl after she hopped into his car. The students caught him red-handed and vandalised his car before handing him over to the police, according to the students’ complaint to the police.

But the arrestee has rejected such allegations and said that he is no more romantically involved with the girl. He was beaten up for nothing, he claimed.

Shahbag police OC Abul Hasan said, he will be produced before the court on Saturday.
