A Dhaka court has heard the testimonies of three classmates of Dia Khanam Mim and Abdul Karim Rajib, who were killed on Jul 29 after being run over by a Jabale Noor-operated bus on the Airport Road in Dhaka.

Sohel Rana, Mehedi Hasan Sagar and Mehedi Hasan Jibon, who were also injured in the accident which triggered widespread road safety protests, testified in court on Wednesday, said prosecutor Tapash Kumar Pal.

The court has scheduled Thursday for the next hearing.

Six people have been charged in court over the road crash which shook the nation. They are transport operator Jabal-e-Noor’s owner Md Shahadat Hossain Akand, owners of the other bus involved in the crash Md Jahangir Alam, drivers Masum Billah and Md Zobaer Suman and their assistants d Enayet Hossain and  Md Asad.

The court framed charges against them on Oct 25 in the case, filed by Mim’s father Jahangir Alam.
