Ganashasthya Kendra founder Dr Zafrulah Chowdhury has once again been sued on charges of extortion and land grabbing amid an ongoing probe against him over remarks on the army chief.
Hasan Imam, an Ashulia resident filed the case on Friday (Oct 19), Ashulia Police OC Rizaul Haque Dipu told Bangla Tribune.
Zafrullah has been named as the prime suspect in the case with Gono Bishwabidyalay Registrar Delowar Hossain, Ganashasthya Kendra Directors Saiful Islam Sishir, Awlad Hossain and unidentified 30 people as other suspects .
According to case dossiers, Zafrullah’s people has been trying to grab a 3 Bigha land, owned by the plaintiff. On Oct 13, Zafrullah’s men demanded Tk 10m as extortion from Imam and vandalised establishment on the property.
Following the alleged incident, Imam filed a case with the Ashulia police.
On Oct 15, Manikganj resident Mohammad Ali filed a similar case against Zafrullah with the same police station.
