Demos for raising job entry age to 35 at ShahbaghA group of youths have demonstrated in the city’s Shahbagh intersection, demanding that the highest age for entry into government jobs be increased to 35 years.
The agitation halted the vehicular movement through the intersection for three hours from around 5:30pm on Saturday (Oct 13).
Youths under the banner of Bangladesh General Students’ Council has been demonstrating to press their demands.
“We would announce non-stop programme if our demands are not met,” warned AZM Imran Chowdhury, organising secretary of the Council.
Protest has erupted at the city’s one of the busiest intersection demanding restoration of the quota system since the government revoked the quota for appointment to first and second class government jobs.
