Family alleges IT expert taken by RAB

Photo taken from FacebookPeople claiming to be officers of the Rapid Action Battalion, RAB, have allegedly picked up a man from his Adabor home in the capital, says his family.
The victim, Nasir Uddin Shamim, was taken away around 9pm on Monday, his younger brother Aminul Haque Shahin told Bangla Tribune.
According to Shahin, about a dozen men in RAB uniform came and took Shamim away claiming to be officers with the RAB-2.
“He was taken away in a vehicle with RAB-2 written on it which was in front of our house during the incident,” he said before adding, “Shamim’s laptop, CPY, iPad and cellphone were also seized.”
Shahin said that his brother has worked for a few IT companies and even started one of his own.
“However, he has been working as a freelancer as of late.”
When contacted, RAB-2 Major, Shibli Sadik, said: “to my knowledge, we haven’t detained anyone by that name.”
