BNP leaders granted anticipatory bail

BNP standing committee member Tariqul Islam.High court has given anticipatory bail to BNP standing committee member, Tariqul Islam, vice-chairman, advocate Khondokar Mahbub Hossain and five others in a total of eight cases lodged at the Paltan and Adabor thanas in the city. This was done before submission of police report.
The other leaders given bail are: advocate Abdur Razzak Khan, advocate Nitai Roy Chowdhury, advocate Akhtaruzzaman, advocate Ferdous Wahida and advocate Taherul Islam.
The order was given by a joint bench of justices, Md Habibul Gani and Mohammad Ali on Wednesday (Sept 19).
Later, barrister AKM Ehsanur Rahman, told Bangla Tribune, “The cases were lodged with Adabor police for obstruction to police work during BNP’s human chain rally and hunger strike held on Sept 11, 12 , 13, 14 and 15.”
