Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hold a video conference chief of district administrations in a bid to coordinate the fight against the coronavirus across Bangladesh.
The video conference from Hasina’s official residence of Ganabhaban is scheduled for 10am on Tuesday (Mar 31), Assistant Press Secretary to the Prime Minister MM Emrul Kayas told Bangla Tribune.
Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and other field-level officials from the 64 administrative districts will connect with the premier through the video conferencing.
Bangladesh has so far confirmed 49 cases of coronavirus with five fatalities, said the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) on Monday.
“One more COVID-19 case was detected in the last 24 hours …. meaning that the total number of positive cases increased to 49,” IEDCR Director Meerjady Sabrina Flora told an online media call.
Meanwhile, the worldwide death toll has surged by about 4,000 in a day to 34,005, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.
