The closure of shops and malls has been extended to Apr 4 amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Bangladesh Dokan Malik Samity announced the decision on Sunday (Mar 29). Earlier, it had said that the malls would remain closed until Mar 31.
However, kitchen markets, pharmacies, grocery stores and supershops will remain open, the organisation’s President Helal Uddin told Bangla Tribune.
He said that the decision was taken considering the interest of shop owners as there are no customers and employees unwilling to come to work.
