The High Court has extended the bail for BNP chief Khaleda Zia in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
On Wednesday, Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mustafizur Rahman extended it earlier bail order until Jul 31 after her counsels moved a plea.
The same bench is hearing the Khaleda’s appeal against the trial court’s verdict in the case.
A former prime minister, Khaleda has been sentenced to five years in jail after a Dhaka court found her guilty of embezzling foreign donations made to the Zia Orphanage Trust.
She has been serving her term since Feb 8 at the old jailhouse on Dhaka’s Nazimuddin Road.
