VC of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dr Saiful Islam has said: “I could not believe the pace in which the arrests have been made after the killing of Abrar at the order of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”
The way the prime minister provided support is unprecedented, he said while talking to the media at his office on Sunday (Oct 13).
Regarding the proscribing of organisation based politics, he observed: “The PM gave us the freedom to ban or keep student politics and our ordinance has the provision to rescind student politics.”
“I have done what is within my jurisdiction,” added the VC.
