Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has gone to avail eye treatment like a general patient at the state-run National Institute of Ophthalmology and Hospital at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in Dhaka’s Agargaon.

The prime minister went to the hospital at 8 am on Thursday (Aug 29) and bought a ticket for Tk 10 from the outdoor like a general patient to avail treatment.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Sheikh Hasina had gone to the hospital for a check-up following an eye surgery she had recently undergone at a hospital in London.

She has been suffering from impairments in her eyes and ears caused during the grenade attack that took place on Aug 21, 2004.

The prime minister also went to the hospital to avail medical services in April this year.

During the time, the prime minister enquired about the activities of the hospital and thanked its physicians and nurses.
