Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury has said that genuine efforts are being made to recover government land. Saying that the DCs were given instruction in this regard, he added: “The district administrator who manages to recover the most land will be awarded by the ministry.”
The minister made the comments on Wednesday (Jul 17) on the fourth day of ongoing conference for DCs.
During the meet with the DCs which was presided over by cabinet secretary, Mohammad Shafiul Alam, he said: “Acquiring land is the most troublesome task with problems arising in paying for the land.”
Cases over payment of acquired land will run but if the notices are under clause 7 and 8 then the payments need to be cleared, commented the minister.
The minister added: “We have instructed the DCs to give the best service; record rooms are being made in districts and efforts are underway to digitize land management.”
