Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has appreciated this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations' results.
Female students did better than their male counterparts in this year’s HSC and its equivalent examination results.
She urged the boys to concentrate on studies to narrow down the gender gap in public examinations.
"The results are sufficiently acceptable and good," she said after receiving the HSC and equivalent results from Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni at her official residence on Wednesday (Jul 17).
Hoping for better results in future, the prime minister said, "I think if the students pay proper attention, their results will be better."
This year, 73.93% students have cleared the HSC and equivalent examinations.
Sheikh Hasina later congratulated the successful candidates and advised the unsuccessful examinees not to be disheartened.
The prime minister thanked teachers and everyone related to the publishing of the results within the stipulated time.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel was also present while the principal secretary conducted the result declaration program.
